1,000 Times in a Row
Do you remember this recent post? This one right HERE. Well... this is the video footage from that day. If you don't feel like watching a baby crawl around for a couple minutes, then this is not the video for you. Ya know, 2 years ago If someone told me that I would watch a video 1,000 times in a row with my hand over my mouth keeping in emotions, and the video only consisted of a baby crawling around in a backyard , I would have asked them: "Well, is it my baby? Cause I can totally see myself doing that!" And now here I am watching my baby girl racing away from baby-land, exploring the garden, harassing her brother, talking on the phone?! and getting itchy from grass. Why is it so cute when little kids scratch an itch? This is actually just a few minutes worth of footage cut apart from Tessa and LB playing around in the back. The Littlest Buddy had just finished watching Signing Time and so that string of signs he does is him singing part of the "silly pizza song." It was a rare grab, as he usually shys away from performing on camera, but lately he has been signing complete songs from top to bottom. As I've said before The Littlest Buddy is getting really close to blog retirement so I wanted to be sure to freeze him in time while he is still this amazing 5.
* Speaking of LB, and 5, and his retirement coming up, it opens up a great opportunity to update you all about the BIG CHARITY ALBUM I am trying to get finished up. I am waiting on just one last little component to be finished before I can submit the album. I have all of the music turned in now. That was the hardest part for sure. I wanted a perfect mix of jacked up hyper foolishness, and a wind-down half, to get the kids back to earth. So now I have it, and am trying to make the release date coincide with The Littlest Buddies birthday so he can go out of PTPR with a bang from all of the love and support all of you have shown him here. So with that said, as these summer months fly by, and we get closer to the end of August, I will be ramping up and really pushing hard, and so many of you have signed up to help this effort, and it's just so encouraging to know that right out of the gate there is big time help to spread the word and give this thing a chance to really make a difference in some lives. If you are new here and have no freaking idea what I'm talking about. Check this post out HERE.
Oh right! The video...
It's so strange to think of these little vimeo movies, and how they are going to be as dated and ancient as the super 8 movies I have of me crawling around as a baby. When Tessa gets older the 7D will be vintage? WTF could there possibly be by the time she is my age?
All the Love in the Universe~ Me
P.S. Oh and Cole told me to tell you that the bathing suit in the last post is a borrow from her friend Afton, who bought this vintage, 1950's? Not sure exactly. I bought her a suit for mothers day from J-Crew but it is still waiting to be shipped :(

this video made my whole heart smile =)
I love how she crawls with one leg straight out! Tessa is so wonderful; her smile is fantastic. Love it when she found your iPhone and just looked so thrilled with herself :-) This video brightens my morning, thanks Ryan
Of course the Tangerine is fantastic in this, but I just love the look on LB's face sometimes. It's like he knows everything there is to know in the Universe and just can't be bothered by time spent with a camera in his face when he should be making plans for the space elevator and hiding them under his bed.=
Precious! :) Keep on seeing the beauty in small everyday moments. :)
SO cute! She's a feisty one. And I love that song, I'm a big Sigur Ros fan.
Your photos and videos make me so excited and inspired to do the same with my future children someday!
Great work, per usual.
Ok, they're not even mine, and that is the cutest thing ever! I love how Tessa knows exactly what to do with the iphone...and ending the video with her saying "dadada" is precious.
Thanks for sharing!
I love that you used "Go" for the song on the video. I always think that that song epitomizes my feelings about youth. :) A beautiful video!
what a darling video!! Can't believe how big tessa has gotten, but as beautiful as day 1 since you've been sharing her with us. :) awesome song choice as well- sigur ros is amazing!
Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh. I love your videos! Tessa and LB are too adorable. She looks so incredibly happy there. Good job. :)
As for what in the world home videos of her babies might look like, what a thought, huh? Will we have 3D videos? Or will it just be somehow even clearer and sharper? It's crazy that this slick little movie you put together with an opening title and music will seem antiquated!
oh man i love that little foot she uses to push along!
and that new jonsi album is so good, major summer jams!
so sweet!
I want my whole life to be scored to Sigur Ros. This is beautiful.

love! loved lb's signing and all of tessa's great faces!
xoxo,

I miss LB... and the Silly Pizza Song.. haven't heard it in a very long time...
Thank you for this blog, Ryan..
Love,
Stephanie
Oh my God, your daughter crawls just like mine does right now (she's almost 9 months)...never puts the right knee on the flippin' ground! Only pushes off with her foot haha. So funny.
Wow, beautiful video (great editing too!). The scene with her picking the grass and then letting it go in the breeze is so perfect, it almost seems scripted. As if such a thing would be possible with such a saucy little mover and shaker! Thank you for sharing this.
My son is only a few months behind Tessa and this video is inspiring me to get out the video camera a bit more often.
she's so super cute! how do you not chew on her little chubby arms & legs?
the talking on the phone thing--all babies do that in the same way-soooo funny!
LB--oh I'm gonna miss his little angel face!!
My favorite part is when she talks on the phone. She should call Sam.
I loved this. Your children are so beautiful!
I love that she propels her crawling with the one leg like a kick start! So cute! Also, when Tessa is holding herself up with the tree- very epic shot. LB has so much energy when he is signing that song!
Great post to wake up to!
A beautiful reminder to get my butt in gear and start editing all the videos we have of our peanut.
Tessa and LB are just too cute. I thought for sure Tessa was going to shove all that grass in her mouth!
Thanks so much for the sweet comments here, they are always appreciated.
so cute
i've just lost a pregnancy in my first trimester. feel sad but hope so much one day to have as loving family as yours with such stinky cute kids!
ellie :)
the leg scratch and then the clap was pretty sweet. it was pretty neat to watch her feel and explore the grass in that one slowed down segment. you rock.
I loved watching this! Very, very cute! I'll miss LB when he graduates from the blog, but I know you have his best interest at heart in that matter, which is awfully considerate. Can't wait to enjoy more pictures, stories, and movies of Tessa as she continues to grow and thrive!
You always have the best music to accompany your videos! I love them.
love her hanging on to the Tessa-sized tree, and thanks for sharing her sweet little voice at the end.
"da da da da da da" :oD
The repeated viewing is entirely understandable. I love that we can capture every day life and store it with such ease. When I was growing up, the camera really only came out for special occasions and major milestones because there was only so much 'film.'
The look of triumph when she finds the phone kills me! Your children just made my morning :)
well this is just about the cutest thing i've seen in months.
oh jeeez. just watched it again cuz I'm waiting for some handles to firm up to attach to their pots...
at about 1:30 the music ramps up and I start balling.
So glad you let us hear her voice at the end, I literally clapped with excitement!
I found this video through a friend, and I'm completely mesmerized by it. I think you might like it, too! http://vimeo.com/10331840
I am completely inspired to make a video, even if it's with my crappy quality camera. What kind of software do you use to put your videos together?
Is Tessa Signing for "more" at the very beginning of the video ? It actually looks like the first trys of my own daughter beginning to sign "more" in French.
@ Aurélie Buisson - Actually yes, cool you caught that. She watches "Signing Time" once a day with LB and so far is signing: more, milk, eat, and all done. We want her to be able to understand her brother right away. How are you teaching your daughter?
Loooooooove the video!!!
Too freakin cute! My son does the sniff dadada combo too. Tessa has an insane amount of facial expressions.
You don't know me, I don't know you, but I've been reading and enjoying your site for a while now. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your life with a bunch of strangers (and obviously a bunch of your friends, too!). Your family is such an inspiration to me, because you are real folks, dealing with real issues. I can relate to so much of what you write and photograph. Sorry to gush, I'm sure that's creepy from a stranger, but seriously, thank you for being on the Internets.
It is so cool that you are taking the time to compile these little videos in the middle of the busyness of life. They are going to be such a treasure! When I try to wrap my head around new technology it usually has to do with the government getting inside our minds, and then I sound like a whacked-out conspiracy theorist and forget about how cool it is that you just made a short film in your own home. Probably on your phone...
Whenever I am having a crappy day, I come over to your blog and your pics and videos make me smile...
I wish I knew the first thing about putting something like this together. What an amazing talent you have.
Your photos and videos are priceless treasures your children will enjoy for years to come.
this video just made me want to have 10 children
her smile is infectious. Her finding the iphone and talking on it is ridiculous.
xox
Tessa is such a precious little angel. She looks so squeezable!
Love the video.Love the song.
Thanks for sharing you life (and your family) with us.
: )
Oh I totally don't blame you! She is a doll baby, and my baby boy just started crawling and pulling up this month too! He's an August baby, what month was she born? What a great video memory that will be for her one day~
Piper and I just sat and watched and both of us loved it. I said "say hi to Tessa" and I swear she did. :)
i love her scrunched up face every so often. too cute.
Now she's talking so well that we've stoppend signing, but she still signs "music" and "listen" whils she says the word. We used it as pre-talk communication. It's great. I used a book which shows and explains the signs and we introduced them while we talked to her. Choosing the signs she most needed at the moment. When she stated signing regularly, she was more than a year old, but it helped soooo much !
I wanted to recommend this slideshow of a homebirth I found on the web. Great photos that could be inspiring for you (as well as remind you some precious part of your life)

So cute! I love how she crawls while avoiding having her knees touch the grass. It seems that no matter how much you avoid putting pink on her, she is still girly! Imagine that.
oh my goodness. i haven't looked at your site in a long while and today's my first day back. THIS MADE MY DAY/WEEK/MONTH. your baby is the most beautiful little girl. love!! <3
I must have seen this video like a thousand times. It feels me with good energy and lots of optimism! The Tangerine is a beauty!
