A Message From the Bayou

A makeshift Oil-Man Scarecrow was placed along the LA 1S in Larose, on the way to Grand Isle, LA. Complete with respirator, X’ed out eyes, and an oily fish in hand.
*my lens kept fogging up from being in the AC and suddenly in the humid summer air. That is why the sides have that foggy look.
When THIS story came out we were in Waveland, MS at a Bar BQ on the way to Louisiana. When I read it off my phone to my family who lives along the coast, with the oil looming about 30 miles away, it just got quiet, and the optimism that the oil won't reach their shores fizzled a little more.
Today I am excited to get to meet this LADY.
Hope you're all making the most out of your Memorial Day weekend.

great post, this is amazing.
As someone who lives on an island, that is completely dependent on the surrounding ocean (for food as well as tourism), my heart goes out to your family on the coast.
I wish more people realized how bad this spill really is...
Thanks for the post.
