Love Stories- A Wedding in Seven Minutes
Lucky for me, there was a soon to be bride that reads here in this space, and she took a chance and asked that I please make some vignettes of her wedding. I agreed. I was nervous because her husband is a talented man in the production world, and after meeting with him... I was even more nervous to do the job. I pulled myself together and set out to do the best I could. This is the job that really made me fall in love with shooting video, and I couldn't have had better subjects to shoot. I wanted to share the results here. So thanks to David and Stacey for letting me show off their day.
What I really loved about this project was realizing you can tell the wedding story with video, and it does not have to be 2 hours of static tripod shots and shout outs from friends and family. I am certainly not against "shout outs" for the memory pile, but I feel like for the bride and groom, their day goes by so fast that I wanted to slow it down for them and really zero in on the love in their faces. The little things, like I couldn't get over how much you could tell that she loved her husband just by watching how she held his hands. I mean you can tell her smile fuels this guys heart. It was a really great experience shooting this for them. They were married in May and they just avoided the real super hot heat that arrived a week after. However, it couldn't be a Florida wedding without some fans flapping. Love it.
*A side note- The groom wrote his bride a beautiful wedding march to walk down the aisle to, and it is so gorgeous that I had to use it in this for them. The second song is a really talented fellow out of the Sunshine State that goes by Radical Face and his song is called 'Welcome Home" I chose it because this song makes me think about leaving behind your past failures, and slipping back to the calm and comfort of home. When I saw both of these families interact with one another it felt like they were very much home. Do yourselves a favor and treat yourself to his album that is out. You will not be sad.
Out of curiosity... if you had a video of your wedding made, how many times have you watched it since you were married? Do you break it out at anniversary time? I really wish Cole and I had something from our wedding. Love the people that give out the super 8 cameras to friends. genius idea.
All the Love in the Universe ~ Me
P.S. I am going to be working in the land of Papya Hotdogs and Pineapple shakes for a spell, so I am going to have to leave this space for a few. Shouldn't be too long. I am excited to show off the job I am doing when I get back. AND it will be Tessa's FIRST birthday! Can you tell I'm excited for this milestone.
P.P.S. I also would be a fool not to mention that if you are interested at all in a video like this one for any of you soon to be married people. Please, feel free to hit my blogger profile and shoot me an email. I would love to keep doing these. Keep in mind-- I will travel, especially to Tokyo :)

wow
we have video
but not "A" video
i love it
so very very pretty
Oh my god.....that was beautiful. You are so talented and gifted, they're going to love it. I do.
this was beautiful! absolutely beautiful. we move to tampa next year...not sure if we're getting married here in the Lou or in Tampa...but if it's Tampa i'm totally hitting you up to do my video. this was beautiful. i even teared up.
Jeremy and I didn't even have photographs taken during our ceremony. But apparently my mother-in-law was video taping the whole thing and when she busted it out for us to watch a few weeks later I almost had a panic attack.
But this is just beautiful, of course. Great job. Again.
That was beautiful! I have to say, when the bride hugs her father after the ceremony I just burst into tears. Such a powerful moment that couldn't have been justified in pictures. It's things such as this that sometimes make me wish my husband and I hadn't eloped, but I still wouldn't trade it for the world.
Thanks for sharing!
KC
Oh my gosh...you got me to cry!!! What a beautiful couple, and a beautiful video!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Just awesome...great attention to detail! I especially love when you can read her Dad's lips saying "I love you so much..." Beautiful work :)
We have a wedding video that we watch occasionally, and I'm glad we have it.
@ KC- that father daughter love was just flooring me all shoot. Both families were incredible.
Thanks so much for the support here while I am getting started doing this kind of stuff. I am going to keep working hard to make them better and better each time.
Ryan
I hate you for sucking me in each and every time with your pictures and videos. Checking out Radical Face now
gah
So, so good. This is beautiful.
gorgeous. slowing down those moments is pure genius. igot chilss at 1:53 & burst into tears when her father says "her mother and i". brilliant.
your calling? found.
we don't have a video, i wish i had one, like this, now.
awesome.
ps...Ben Cooper is a recent new fave of mine. i blogged about them a couple weeks ago.
Have been Lurking for a long time and rarely comment. Had to jump over to say that when the dad goes in for the hug - i die. such love. beautiful.
Wow, gorgeous job!! Love it - all of it!
Gorgeous! Words fail me... Thank you so much for sharing. You are so incredibly talented.
Amazing video. I love Stacey laughing.
I would hire you in a heartbeat..why didn't I know about you three years ago when I got married in Hawaii!
Longtime lurker coming out to say HOLY MY GOODNESS! I have the biggest lump in my throat right now - that was the most impressive wedding video I've ever seen! So gorgeous and I totally wish I had one like it. I wore a feather headpiece like that when I got married and I just loved how you captured the little feathers dancing in the breeze.
You are amazingly talented and I'm so jealous you're in Florida - I could totally see you doing something like thing for a baby's birth.
Ryan you always make me cry!
From brides to babies, you are the master at capturing love & emotion.
The bride's Dad just kills me!
We're coming up on 7 years and have probably watched our video on 5 anniversaries. It still makes me tingle.
I'm also a long time lurker coming out. You had me in tears almost from the beginning. This was so powerful - a true testament to what love is all about. Great work!
That video is absolutely breathtaking! You captured some beautiful moments from their day, and I almost want to go watch it again - there is so much joy that even the viewer can feel.
BEAUTIFUL!! My arms filled with goosebumps watching the bride and her dad hug. Clearly it struck a chord as my dad and the rest of my family won't be able to make it to my wedding from Lebanon. Their support will mean the world to me but I'm not getting it marrying outside of my culture.
We haven't set a budget for a vidoegrapher and my regrets are already too big. Perhaps I need to change that. The love these 2 have for one another is loud and clear and you've captured it so beautifully. I would love to send my family a video just as pure as this one and maybe they can learn to accept the love my man has for me.
You are so talented and gifted and in all honesty if our wedding was to take place in FL, there is no doubt, you will be amongst us shooting our video. Thanks for sharing!
oh my lands. i can't even count how many times i teared up. her father's face hugging her put me over!
it was just beautiful, you did an amazing job!
we don't have anything like this but might have a little 10 year renewal and i'd love the have something similar done.
We decided to forgo an expensive wedding videographer and instead had a friend film us using a Super 8 camera bought a week before from Ebay that we didn't test out before the wedding.
We took our chances and even though most of our footage was dark or blurry, we love how our little homemade wedding video turned out! It encourages us to remember all the little details and moments that weren't so clear in the video, and we love that.
I usually re-watch our wedding video when I see other wonderful videos like yours. It brings back all the excitement of the day and makes me want to relive it all over again.
You can see ours here: http://www.vimeo.com/8662086
This brought tears to my eyes - and I don't have a clue who these people are.
Beautifully created with a continuous flow of fun, love & emotion. Well Done all around.
Had to press pause a few times to prevent full-blown weeping at my work desk. Wow. - K
@ Christine S. - That made me so sad. I hope your father changes his mind and comes and gives you a hug.
@Kristine- Oh wow. I wish we would have done the super 8 cameras. Such an awesome idea.
That video is fabulous! If I wasn't already married, I'd have you do one for me. Such a beautiful couple too! Looked like a magazine shoot.
Can I get married again just so I can have a video like this??
I am speechless. It's an incredible video. You my friend are very talented.
Ryan, my gawd! You really, really, no - REALLY have a talent for capturing not only the emotions, but the personalities of your subjects. Loved how joyful the bride was with her bubbling laughter. You have definitely found your calling. The people who hire you will be so frickin lucky to have their memories framed so beautifully. I do have a wedding video, and my videographer was an amateur, sister of a friend, but she did some great work (though nowhere near as good as yours) and I cherish it. I don't watch it often (anymore) but when I do, it's that much more special. She also set it to a song I never knew, and it was so special. Thanks for the happy tears AGAIN...
Amazing...amazing amazing amazing. Took my breath away. You are extremely talented and what a lovely way to rememeber a beautiful day.
very nice, Ryan!! they must be thrilled. You have a great heart, and that, combined with your talent and skills, is what makes you more than a cut above. (the scenes with the dad....) Thanks for sharing.
ps. the music too!!! gorgeous!
I LOVE this. Love, Love, Love it. Seeing things like this make me rethink my whole "I never want to get married" attitude. Just seeing the love pour out of these two is amazing!
And I couldn't help but tear up when father/daughter were hugging after the ceremony. Just beautiful.
Great job,Ryan-as always!
Yay! It's up! And it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us, as always.
I'm no where near getting married myself, but this makes me want to get out there and find mr. right asap. If only so I can smile like they do.
Lots of girls like to imagine their wedding, and I'm among them; but for me, only one thing about the "plan" has always stayed the same, and that's the dance with my Daddy. Seeing this daddy reminded me of that. So much love.
God you're so talented I wish I was you.
This video is PERFECTION.
you have a way of seeing that gladdens my heart. every time you shoot, every "thing" you shoot. thank you for your perspective. it is an ongoing gift.
Ryan, I have never seen a wedding video this good. You have an AMAZING talent for this! You have great editing skills and your musical tastes are just as great too :)
Oh holy...seriously Ryan, you're amazing. We have a video but it is just straight video. Nothing fancy. We were married almost two years ago and have not watched it since. If I had a video like the one you posted, I would watch it daily. No joke.
You have an incredible talent. You just seem to get it. From all the details to the music, the emotion, everything. So many people become cynical about weddings after they have one of their own.."oh my, the money..was it worth it?" kind of thing. You seem to really understand and capture the importance and love that each couple feels on that day. Well done, sir.
By the way, the father/daughter hug...tears here too. Wow.
Wow. Beautiful, beautiful work.
Love her blue shoes, too!
Dood. All the words in the world couldn't say how incredible this video is.
Your talent speaks for itself. And I imagine that couple is going to make it through marriages ups and downs just fine. Their love was oozing all over the place.
Another longtime lurker...this made me sob at my desk. This is breathtakingly beautiful. Amazing job.
First time on the sight; gorgeous video! Breathtaking. Really.
Gorgeous!!! How I wish I had something like this from my wedding.
Yeah, I completely lost it during the father-daughter hug. This was amazing, and the songs were perfect.
Damnit! That's twice this week you've made me cry!
Beautiful job, Ryan. As with the baby Leo video - would you mind if I feature both of them on my blog? I need to make sure everyone I know sees them, they're too beautiful...
You've really been blowing me away lately with your work. Very proud of you :)
I have the coolest friends..
Gorgeous video!! I LOVED it!
Wow, I'm not even close to being married but that was absolutely gorgeous. I definitely teared up when the bride gave her parents a hug after the ceremony, especially with her father. You can just tell how in love they are, with the looks and the small touches, the little random kisses he gives her. Beautiful job Ryan, I'm sure they will love to look back on this.
you produce amazing work, ryan. thank you for sharing your talents with your readers.
you have a true gift.
*
i'm new to your blog and i LOVE it- i ended up here looking for maternity clothes...somehow was linked to your gorgeous photos of your wife....and have been loving looking at your work since! that video is just the essence of how i'm sure they would want to remember that day- and the dad hug?! too much. just lovely, thank you for sharing!
I too totally lost it when father and daughter hug. I was going to blame it on pregnancy hormones, but as many other readers cried too, I know that's not the case. It's the joy and love, baby!!! And you managed to get it on "film".
We went to an Indian wedding two weeks ago and it was amazing. The colors, the music, the vibe, the love. My son was blown away by how beautiful everyone looked in their saris. If you ever get a chance to video an Indian wedding, you need to jump at that. You would do an amazing job at capturing the stunning visuals. And yes, I cried at that wedding too, because everyone was so, so happy. Love and joy - that's what weddings should be all about
Not sure who these folks are, but I sure did cry as if they were my own family! I think that's testament to your amazing videography skills. I don't have a wedding video, and I never even look at my pictures because I think my wedding sucked hardcore. My marriage? WONDERFUL. Wedding? Eh.
I don't have the time to watch this video right now...but it's on my to-do list. Your videos never fail to impress.
We did have someone videotape our wedding...and we've watched it a couple times. In all honesty, it's far too long and the sound isn't great. I would love to have it edited and set to music. *hint hint* Have you dabbled in editing or do you know someone trustworthy that you could recommend?
Yay Tessa's going to be one. Her birthday's on Tuesday isn't it? I graduate on Tuesday.
Loved the video, especially the groom's outfit!
I think that was the best wedding video I've ever seen. I have many videos from the various special occasions in mine and my family member's lives (I'm not married, but we've got Sweet 16's, 1st birthday parties, etc.) and I can tell you that these things rarely get watched in their entirety (usually 2-3 hours long), but for the small moments - your video was the perfect vignette that I'm certain will be watched over and over again (and I just couldn't help but think about how nice some of the shots would've worked as still photos as well)!
I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago and since then have really enjoyed reading it and looking at the pictures.
Ryan - One of my favorite things about the intarwebs is when the video ends and I have to look around to reorient myself to "this" world. You did that with this. Bravo.
I can't watch it because your last video made me cry, and I'm feeling especially sappy right now so I know what's coming :) If we had video, I would watch it a lot. At least every anniversary, but probably way more often. We hired a videographer (is that what they're called?) but he stood us up. Nice, right? I was heartbroken over it!
I think you've really got a good thing going, here. You're very talented.
I have a huge passion that lies in video, and for the last few months I've been taking bursts of images to put together with my Canon. I hope to one day get my hands on the 7D. There's something about telling a story with small bits and pieces of moving life that really pulls at my heart strings.
i love love
so so nice
no video for us & i don't regret it. i don't like to watch myself, so it works out.
We're coming up on our 2nd Anniversary & I only wish we had a tangible memory like that. Makes me want to do it all over again, just so you can be there.
I totally want to have another wedding just to have you shoot a video for us- that was amazing! I hope you keep doing these, and keep sharing them with us!
it's stunning, ryan! it's just perfect. i wish i could fly you into dallas this weekend for my dear friends' wedding! no time and no money! :-\ how special for these two, though, to have this. if i were them, i'd watch it way more than once a year. i'd watch it every single day.
Beautiful work as always!!! We do have a video but never watch it. I do love how it came out and think I will watch it more as my daughter grows up.
I wish you could come to NJ and shoot some video of my 2 year old. I wish I had some cute short videos of her like the ones you have made of your children!
A beautiful story....very touching. The music is enchanting and their love is depicted perfectly. The bride's father hugging her after the wedding made me burst into tears as well. A priceless moment. Priceless. Your video capturing skills are obviously amazing. I love iMovie but by no means have your skills with the handycam.
My wedding video is in VHS (gasp!) but I'm the type that would certainly watch it over and over again. (12 years later).
Thanks for sharing. You're awesome at what you do.
Loved it! Another video that made me cry like a baby. That's two in a row, Ryan...let's put something out there that's not so tear inducing ok? My pregnancy hormones are in overdrive as it is.
We do have a wedding video. We watch it on occasion, but the one who watches it the most is our 7 year old daughter. I think she has it completely memorized.
For anyone out there getting married, trust me, photos/videos...they are worth every penny! Get a cheap dress, have your aunt make your cake, what ever it takes to make sure you have money to get your day documented! They will be your children's favorite keepsakes.
That was one of the most beautiful things I've ever watched. Gorgeous! I would give anything to have something like that from my wedding. You are very talented!
Absolutely amazing! I immediately started crying when she hugged her dad after the ceremony. Such a beautiful moment! I got married just 4 weeks ago, eloped in San Francisco. We did have a photographer with us, but she didn't shoot video, just photos which I'm still anxiously, but patiently, waiting for!
Amazing!! I love reading your blog but I hate that it makes me cry every time:) You capture life in such a beautiful way.
Oh my goodness, Ryan! That is the most beautiful wedding video I have ever seen and exactly what I would want for mine! Please do me a favor and do not get so successful and famous that you decide you "don't do weddings" anymore because in 2-5 years, when I eventually get engaged and then married, you're as good as hired! kthanks.
I am so jealous! If I had a video like this, I'd watch it every day. Really, it would be on my desktop.
Where's my time machine? I need a video like this.
ps- are you mad at me? i wrote you an email.... :0(
That was a FAST 7 minutes!! I could have watched more and more and more!!
Simply stunning!
ok, never though wedding videos could be good...until today. wow!
amazing work. beautiful. and yes if i were married and had a video i would most definitely bring it out, watch it and remember. especially if it were as incredible as what you've done here.
Just gorgeous! You are a magical photographer and you may have just taken it up a notch with the birth video and now this. Amazing.
Oh and yes, I have a wedding video. We waited to watch it on our 1 year anniversary for the first time and it was so great! We plan on watching it on our 2nd in August and every anniversary thereafter. It was a last minute splurge and I don't regret it one bit! I woudl've paid double looking back.
Wow, Ryan. Amazing....beautiful. How happy they must have been when they watched that video. Wow.
hmmm...I'm getting married in 24 hours, how quick can you get to Australia?
@ Courtenay - Hmm, if I leave right now, I could get there in about 24 hours :) have a blast tomorrow... or today, or down under?
Yowzers! It seems every time I drop by this space recently, I'm moved to tears!
What a beautiful thing you've made. Don't know how you did it, looked like you were in several places at once! Perfectly edited, I'd be so chuffed to have such a memory of my wedding day.
having followed your work since early on in Cole's pregnancy, I can only saw, I can't IMAGINE how you could possibly get any better at this. I will probably never get married OR have children, but I wish I could, just so I could hire you to complete the memory for me. I agree with what everyone else says about the music (aweseome),and her laugh (makes me smile), and especially the daddy moments (makes me cry), but you also captured the sincere, palpable adoration in his eyes every time he looked at her! thank you for sharing your work with us!
You really need to stop making me cry at work.
This video is just perfection. They look so incredibly happy and the bride is just ... luminous. And her dad!! I think my heart broke a little.
PS. I LOVE that song. I hope the album is available in Australia.
Ryan,
this was just beautiful. i love the tenderness in your videos. the dad hugging his daughter just kills me. and the video of trish and her husband made tears stream down my cheeks.
my husband and i are having a baby in august, and his family lives in florida. when we bring her there sometime in the next year for her first visit, i really want to talk to you about taping our little family for an afternoon. these videos are magical.
thanks for sharing,
katie
Ryan, would you take a family trip to New Zealand early 2012 to film a wedding? Seriously. I'm currently working overseas with my fiance and haven't been back since we left in 2007. The scene where the Dad hugs his daughter choked me up big time. I can't wait to see mine when we return home next year.
Have missed your posts these last few months - but you're obviously busy doing breath-taking work.
Looking forward to seeing more of what you've been up to - it's out of this world.
xox
I LOVE this video so much! And I may just take you up on that offer to travel to Tokyo. I did, after all, live there for quite some time and would love to have my husband and me back one day.
Your attention to detail is terrific! Love the video!
http://vimeo.com/4791381
I'm sure you'll do better when you visit Tokyo next
That was so beautiful! I got goosebumps as soon as it started and then cried when the bride and her father hugged for so long! I mean, I do have some raging early-pregnancy hormones going on... but I think it's just a very emotion-rich piece. I wish I had something like that from my own wedding.
i agree with david cross that the word "literally" should never be misused, but it is entirely possible that this wedding video is literally the first non cheesy wedding video in the history of all wedding videos. job well done, as per usual. (apologies to david cross)
man! every time i come here I end up crying!!! haha love it!
Ryan, what a beautiful video. We had friends videotape our wedding, and my husband (a sound designer) placed mics randomly to catch all the "little things." unfortunately something went wrong with the recording and we don't have any sound...but somehow watching the video with no sound is pretty powerful. i've only watched it once or twice since we got married 5 years ago...i usually pull out the photos, which are truly amazing, to reminisce.
A few other people have said it already, but I just have to add that the father/daughter hug also moved me to tears. The whole video is just beautiful, but that moment - ah - you can sense how happy he is for his little girl, and how much emotion he exudes without saying a word.
What a beautiful collection of emotion, artfully captured and composed into a brilliant 7 minutes. Nicely done!
Absolutely beautiful! :)
Too bad I'm already married (coming up on five years) or I'd totally be begging for you to shoot my wedding!!
We do have a video. My uncle carried around his old school camcorder during the ceremony and reception in order to "capture" our day. It is a good 3-4 hours long, so it doesn't get watched all that much ... But I am still happy to have it.
My nine-month old is just starting to tear it up in his own "crawling phase." Maybe you'd want to come up to Cleveland to shoot some footage of that for me??!! ;)
That was incredible. I loved every little piece...the slowing down, the music, all the little details you captured. (Her shoes were killer!) Really amazing work.
We have been married almost 13 years and have watched our video only a handful of times. It was a last-minute thing made by a family friend who commented through half the taping. Fun to have, but nothing that makes me tear up like yours just did.
*sniffle* that was just beautiful.
you are so very talented!!
Obviously you have such great talent - all these tears and I don't know these people at all... in seven mins you make us care, and we're so there - feeling it all. Thank you... beautiful.
I had a video of my wedding with my ex - and while it wasn't nearly as good as this, it was short, had great music and i still watch it - even after splitting up 6 years ago... because it was full of those lovely moments that our friend caught - but wasn't the WHOLE day word for word...
I've followed your blog for a long time, but this is my first post ever.
Actually moved to tears by your video, despite not knowing the couple or the music. In short, it's stunningly beautiful. Makes me wish I could reverse time and have you shoot something similar for our wedding (now 8 years ago!). Truly amazing.
Am thinking it might be the BEST gift I could give my dearest friend in the world for her upcoming nuptials. Any interest in coming up to Minneapolis next summer? (I swear, it's cooler than Florida in the summer!)
Jesus, man...you are so talented!
I cried. Ha! Awesome job Ryan, it was perfect.
Maybe in like 3 years or so I'll be calling you up to fly to Southern California...
Could I hire you to go back in time and video my wedding? I've only watched my wedding video about half a time in the seven years since getting married... it's just so cringe-inducing to watch guests struggle to come up with well wishes on the spot, and the quality was classic home movie style. But this? I would watch every day.
Wow, I've been stopping by to visit your blog every so often to see The Walk to 40 Weeks, but seeing this video....wow. Need to leave a comment to say that this was amazing! I tried to be brave and fight the tears, but as soon as the father and bride hug, oh man, I lost it. Hubby and I got married 2 years ago; no video because we wanted to spend more money on photos (worth it!!), but if I knew that a wedding video could look like THIS!! Ryan, your work is beautiful.
I just emailed my photographer telling him that unfortunately we can't afford to have video at the wedding and we'll stick to the basic photo package... and if that by itself wasn't painful enough, you show us this!!!
If you happen to be in Spain on August 21st, email me!
Ryan, absolutely phenomenal! If I could go back 16 years, I'd so do it over with you again there as a photographer & videographer. Any chance you could piece together something similar from old video footage? Congrats to the Tangerine. Next up running!
I won't lie, I was not even going to watch the video. I peek in from time to time to see how your kids are growing and skim what I might have missed.
Glad I did watch, what an incredible piece. you are amazingly talented. This video thing is new for you, you have to be kidding! Amazing attention to detail- beautiful video.
You are so talented! I want to go back in and add music to my video! Made me cry-beautiful!
The other 100+ people said it well:
Beautiful. I love moving pieces, where you feel you are right there in the action, feeling the hugs from the family. I too can't stand the 2 hour long drawn out boring video and toasts and images of drunk people doing the macarena.
What you did was beautiful.
I love my wedding video. My friend from One Small Instrument Pictures filmed a short vignette from our day. And to be honest, I watch it often. If you are so inclined: http://vimeo.com/1416756
That was so beautiful, it made me cry and I've never seen those people in my life. The dad choking up as he hugged his daughter - how lucky these people are to have this memory of their wedding day.
That was just absolutely beautiful.
I wish I had such a beautiful memento from my wedding.
Wow, that brought tears to my eyes, like your videos (and pictures)often do! You are so extremely talented, thanks for sharing!
Gorgeous Ryan..So beautiful.. I hope you're back from the city next weekend when I stop by... I was just there... papaya dog, yum!
See you soon,
Stephanie <3
i don't have a dad, so i will never have that moment shared in this video. i never realized how much i was missing out, until now.
that moment really killed me. truly. this bride is so lucky. anyone with a dad who can share a moment like that with his daughter, man. you are so lucky.
seriously can't ever watch this video again, as beautiful as it is, just can't get past that moment.
Oh my gosh. This is INCREDIBLE. I'm sitting here crying. That bride is breathtaking. Congratulations on an amazing job. Thanks for posting that.
Amazing and so emotional. I love reading your blog and I am especially fond of your Tessa Tangerines name as my name is Tessa as well. :-)
Oh I love your work. I wish you lived in NM so you could shoot my wedding.
My husband and I had a Super 8 videographer tape our wedding and create a 15-minute video out of Super 8 film and stills from the day. It is absolutely beautiful and timeless... our wedding looks as though it could have happened in 1948 or 2008 (which it did!) But we had about ten copies made for friends and family... I'm not sure when they watch them, but I know that we watch mine before my husband leaves on every deployment (he's in the military and he leaves on deployments 3-4 times a year) and of course, every anniversary which he usually misses but I always play it and let him listen in on the phone... I plan on Super 8 filming our pregnancy of our first child as well, so he won't miss a moment! :)
what i really noticed was how well this bride hugs people!
Where can we buy that original piece of music that was written for the Bride?
Wow, I am stunned! I've never commented here, but I had to stop in to say how amazing that video is. You are truly VERY talented! What a gift. I'm dying to know if you were the only one shooting? I don't know how you got all of those angles! And the editing of the video was perfection. I so wish I could have a video of my wedding like this... :(
First of all, I love how smiley the bride is. And those big, throwing-her-head-back laughs are so beautiful.
Secondly, what program do you use to edit video, Ryan? You've probably mentioned it on the blog, but I wouldn't know where to begin looking.
Amazing vid. Maybe we could hire you to do a vid when we renew our vows. Would you travel to Sydney, Australia?
Wow, I feel like I'm always lagging behind b/c I work half the week and make up blog reading the other half. This video was off the chain! (If only the bride would have SMILED). My favorite part by far was the transition from the line of bridesmaids shifting to the whirling fans. And the wall of streamers at the very beginning. Those components made it feel less like a wedding and more like a short film. I can't imagine how much footage you had to wade through to produce this little gem. Your blog material is un.stoppable.
I have never cried seeing someone else's wedding before, but I cried at seeing this stranger's video! Beautiful...
Everything about this video shouts joy and love.
what about travelling to Trinidad and Tobago? :)
this is precisely the type of video I'd want when that time comes. Plus you, Cole and the kids would get to have a Caribbean vacation!
We watched our wedding video every year on our anniversary- that was until our VCR broke :( Watching this video makes you want to scream at the top of your lungs every time people spend $$ on ridiculous flowers & cheesy favors & say they couldn't afford a video. Let this be a lesson to them. Gorgeous!
That was so incredible, I got teary-eyed. And I don't usually get very emotional over weddings. Amazing! I've never seen a really well done wedding movie- well, I guess I haven't seen that many ever. I really wish I'd seen that kind of video before our wedding- we'd have sprung for videography. And like everyone else said, the bride hugging her father was just too much. You captured so much in just a few shots. So great and real and simple.
This is truly beautiful. The music that the groom composed is amazing. Where do I hear more of his music?!
Absolutely beautiful! You did an awesome job capturing the precious moments of their wedding. How lucky for David & Stacey to have those priceless memories forever. I wish I had your talent.
Thank you for sharing.
this is magical. so beautiful. every video you've posted makes me cry. you have such a gift...keep on giving.
oh. my. gorgeous.
Wow, just found your blog today from Dooce and have bounced around checking it out. So much here to comment on but this video. There are no words. From one almost 30 yr old gal currently going through a rough break up this video reminds me that there is hope that I'll find my true love. I pray it will be somewhere near as sweet as this. True raw talent. You're amazing.
That made me cry it was so good! I've seen a lot of wedding videos and I'd have to say that was the best one. You really captured the love!
Love the video.
You did a great job of avoiding all the sugary wedding cliches, and just left in the love.
Awesome stuff.
