10 days to GO!

I have finally locked in what I am going to be shooting on 10.10.10. and I am so excited for this day to finally get here. I am such a sucker for a community driven creative undertaking of this scope. A GLOBAL project. Are you kidding me... The guys behind this film project are so inspiring, and ambitious, and thinking about this date getting closer I can't imagine how they must be feeling.

I got so excited for One Day On Earth that I wanted to shoot some of my project on actual film. So I took a plunge and finally bought myself a camera that I have always wanted the other day. It arrives soon. I keep watching out the front window for the brown truck like a psycho. I haven't shot any super 8 footage in years, but always love how the footage comes out. There is a great place in LA that does the processing and the transfer to media files, so I can edit with the clips easily. So I finally did it. I found this gorgeous sucker online that had been totally refurbished and new batteries built for it. I picked out the stocks that I wanted and ordered my film last night.

I am going to shoot with the Canon 7D and the Beaulieu 4008 ZMII. So, I am all geared up and ready to shoot on 10.10.10.

Are you ready? What are you going to shoot that day? How many people that read here are going to do this? HERE is my profile on One Day On Earth. friend request me and I can see what you all submit.

If you were still wondering what ONe Day On Earth was all about, this film above they put together explains it so well. You still have 10 days to get involved. If you know of anyone in your life that shoots, or that can tell a story with their camera, please make sure they know about this project.

Get excited.

10 days to go.

I want to do it so bad but I'm out of ideas on what to shoot :(

@ Aura- I can't believe that. You have 10 days. Make it happen :) You know how to tell a story with a camera, you do it all the time, and you do it so well. So get involved in this. That was my pep talk. Did it work?

I can't wait to see what you create with that gorgeous thing.

Aura September 30, 2010 10:54 AM

Okay, Okay. You got me. Maybe we can take a little road trip that weekend.
Thanks, Dad.

@ Aura- Good. I am glad we got that all straightened out. Good luck. I know it will be great. BTW. So excited for you. Seriously it's crazy. Cole and I were just busting. Let us know if you need anything.

Becka @Studio222 September 30, 2010 10:59 AM

We'll be shooting a wedding all day that day. Does that count? :)

The Panic Room September 30, 2010 11:02 AM

@ Becka- Absolutely. I am sure you will notice something epic going on during the wedding to submit :)

Mrs Soup September 30, 2010 12:33 PM

I finally signed up. I'm totally going to do this. The awesomeness epic of a regular day. The most interesting things in sociological and anthropological significance are the every day. The normal. So I'm going to do a Day in the Life. Finding the epic in the ordinary.

I'm with Mrs. Soup -- I hadn't signed up before today, because I wasn't sure I would be doing anything exciting enough to be worth documenting. But I signed up anyway. Because while epic happens everywhere else, I'm living a quieter sort of epic. I have no idea what I'll get out of the 10th, but I'm excited to find out.

I hope there's cake involved.

I'm curious where you send your film to be developed. I have some uneveloped film sitting around that I really need to send in. Would mind sharing the contact info?

Oh, how fun! We actually inherited a camera similar to that, but haven't ever tried it out. Best find someplace that can develop the film first. And I think I'm going to pass this little assignment on to my daughter.

I've been stoked about this project ever since you first mentioned it - but I never really imagined participating myself. I think at the time I was overwhelmed with all of my other freelance projects and whatnot.

But... I will be exploring Kathmandu on 10.10.10 - and gearing up to hike up to Everest.

Maybe I should sign up.

@Kathleen- Oh man. YOU. HAVE. TO.
I am emailing you.

I want to do it, and I took that day off because it's my birthday weekend, so I think I might actually do it. Maybe we'll go to the orchard and see some other farms that day. I dunno. Maybe visit my grandmother in the alzheimer's unit.

Shandell October 1, 2010 5:38 PM

I've signed up for it, but haven't decided on what to shoot yet that would be unique...we'll see what happens when the day comes!
