The Spring Revival

This weekend was a surprise. I had no idea what the weather was supposed to do, so when we walked outside and figured out it was so nice-- we pretty much just stayed out there the entire time.
Tessa had so much fun in the pool she refused to nap, and so she ended up making herself miserable. It was amazing to watch someone have so much fun that they couldn't stop being sad...
And all of the sudden they smell like sunscreen, and dirt, fresh flowers, and chlorine, and their little shoulders cook in the sunshine. We go from winter to summer here in a blink. Honestly we needed this weather, it is always a shot in the arm, and the timing couldn't have been better. It felt a little like it was a gift. The home projects are piling up fast. There is talk of building a front porch, we would actually have a porch swing to swing and porch talk on and everything. Pencils are filling up paper with all kinds of busy and just like that, the house is buzzing.

Jelly shoes!! I need to have a daughter now, just to buy her jelly shoes. Lovely photos, thank you for sharing. I agree, this warm weather came just in time as a much needed mood boost...
Ahh summer, I miss sunshine again. You are lucky to have that kind of weather, we had few days alright weather and then the mistral wind hit us, can't go outside without flying away! Lovely pictures :)
What in the world is that green stuff on the ground? Hmmm, I seem to remember a distant memory....
I just love these photos! They have such a fun, old feel to them. Gorgeous family, too.
I love the busy. It's hope and promise and potential all rolled up with "I CAN!"
Man, these pictures make me ache with jealousy! We're in the middle of a freezing monsoon here in Portland. Pool time is still months away...I remember being cold on the 4th of July.
That said, I love filling up lists of home projects and family events. Even if they don't all get finished, the act of planning and dreaming is still really fun.
Haha "having so much fun they couldn't stop being sad". Awesome line. And, somehow, even at 30 years old, I know the feeling...
I love the switch of seasons, with all the smells of dirt and sunscreen and summer. It is beautiful.
A porch swing. I dream of one day owning a house with a porch swing.
These pictures make me jealous...I live in Toronto. :)

Beautiful pix, as usual! Nice to see LB!
Random Question, but where do you guys go swimming? Not the exact location obviously, but do you go to a local public pool or a friends house or something? :)
Can I borrow your weather? Chicago has been brutal. And a few shots with the goose would be cool too. :)

I'm no carpenter, but I can hammer a nail, sand wood, and drink a High Life with the mediocre-est of them. Let me know if you need a hand.
Your family is BEAUTIFUL! I've said that before haha :)
Hope you don't mind...I used one of your photos as a link on my blog for inspiration!
