Cole & Trish
Cole & I went to a wedding on Sunday and we got the chance to hangout with Trish, Peter, and baby Leo who were also attending, and I realized this was a great chance to give everyone that update they were looking for. Do they look different to you? I think they wear parenthood well. We don't see them as often as we should, and it is always really great to see Cole & Trish together bouncing around with the kids. They both have that big bright light when they are around their babies. I missed the chance of getting a photo of Tessa and Leo playing together like a ding dong, but I have to say it was really sweet, and I kept thinking how much I hope they grow up to be the greatest friends. Tessa danced, ate delicious mini cupcakes, and ran up and down ramps, she had a blast the whole time. She is definitely a fan of weddings.

** I have been traveling so much these last few months on jobs that I am feeling really disconnected, and I hate that feeling. It's like I get home and want to catch up, and just can't seem to get back all the way. So we decided to take some time this week and booked a beach trip along the Gulf Coast with the kiddos. We were going to end up in New Orleans to see some bloggy friends, but while we were booking the trip along the way, we got so excited about the beach stops, that we decided to skip the Big Easy altogether. So I will be back next week after our trip and promise to share some pictures from the Gulf Coast. It's Tupelo season again, and I love the Pan Handle this time of year. We are sticking to the sleepy beach towns on the Forgotten Coast, but are venturing into the tourist heavy Destin for a day so that Cole can see this stretch of beach. It's just gorgeous. Both kids are in love with the beach so we are anticipating the worlds most perfect vacation :)
See you all when we get back.

Oh! Skip Destin and take Cole down 30-A! Although also a little tourist heavy (for its size) Seaside is very cool, and the Greek style houses in Alys Beach are definitely worth seeing. You probably already knew about all of this, but I'm such a fan of 30-A, I'm always begging people to go.
Have a fantastic time You Guys!!!! And bring lots of pictures back with you.
xxx
Layla is right. 30A is a dream and there are so many quaint little towns along the way. I live about 40 min. from Destin, and I agree, the beach is. to. dye. for. SO beautiful. My husband also works that area.
Have a great time.
I agree 30-A is excellent and seaside and Seagrove are a lot of fun. I highly recommend checking out stand up paddleboarding while you are there with the Yolo Board company. You can take a really fun 30 minute lesson and be up and paddling fast! Here is the link to their website: http://www.yoloboard.com/
First of all these photos are incredible. Second have a fabulous vacation.
Gosh Cole and Tessa have the same smile.. so beautiful. That first photo is just stunning Ryan. xo
I've never been able to see a strong resemblence between Tessa and Cole before (I think she's your spit) but in that first photo there's something about the eyes and the expression that makes them look really similar.
And Leo is a very handsome wee boy! So good to see him again.
Everyone looks fabulous! That first pic is just so great. Big smiles all 'round.
Leo is such a cutie! And it's good to see Peter's face! I like the substantial hair reduction! Thanks for the update. It looks as though they're doing great and I'm glad to see it.
have a great trip! we're taking our first family vacation (in 11 years of marriage & 4 kids, mind you) to sand diego next summer. we'll hit it up for a few days before blogher & then, i'll head over there.
so great to see trish, peter & leo. they look great. AND HAPPY! what a beautiful family.
Destin is the BEST!!
You should go eat at a little place called Pompano Joe's. We stayed right down the "beach" (can't really say street) from there and ate there more than once. We also liked Fudpucker's, The Back Porch, and AJ's (on the Harbor - Fort Walton)!
My kids got to do some crab catching during the night, so if that is something that you would like take flashlights and pails. And rode the waves on those little wake board things.
Not that you asked...but I just thought I would share! LOL! Hope you all have fun.
Ok, well no facial hair on Peter and he's either wearing a pony tail or cut off his man mane, so HELLYEAH he looks different!!! Trish looks amazing, and their little man is soooooo adorable! He looks so serious in the pictures!
Its so fun to see the update on them! I loved Trish's Walk to 40 Weeks. You're right, they wear parenthood really, really well.
Cole and Tessa are just amazingly beautiful as usual. :) How was LB? Did he have fun?
P.S. What camera were you using for these shots? Digital or film? I just loooove the black and white. They have a really dreamy, magical, old-timey feel. Lovely, as always.
your pictures are so beautiful and inspiring. thanks for always sharing...
Have fun! Jealous. :)
Ok, that first photo? One of my top 5 of yours! That photo has such an amazing retro feel(as do the others). Makes me think of the 1960s.
And Peter, Leo and Trish look great!
I went to the Gulf Coast for the first time last year and I loved the beaches! Can't wait to go back. Have fun!
Lovely photos Ryan. Your family is amazing and Leo is super adorable.
have fun on your trip :)
Beautiful photos! Everyone looks so happy. I am slightly jealous too though, because it looks like its warm there and its freeeezing here in SF. I wish I could already frolic around in my sleeveless dresses.
And um, yeah Peter looks heeeeellla different...no beard!! I liked the beard, but change is always good. Its good to keep people on their toes. :) I am growing my hair out and really get upset when people tell me they liked it better short and I should cut it. Change is good!
oh man. living in san diego it seems odd to say i am jealous of your beach trip... but it just isn't the same. we will be lucky if the water is warm here by july!
Wow! I have not seen the clean-shaven Peter. And Leo looks like a tiny little man. Cole, Trish, and Tessa are beautiful as always.
Ryan, have a fantastic break with your delightful family.
Thanks for the Trish, Peter and Leo update! And yes, how different they look (aside from the disappearance of Peter's beard)! The photo of just Trish and Leo is spectacular – Joanna over on Cup of Jo was talking today about mothers' hearts existing externally and this photo really captures that sentiment.
Destin is my hometown. Harbor Docks is a yummy Japanese restaurant on the water. Alys Beach and Seaside are my favorite little beach towns down 30A. Both are so quaint. Alys Beach is very modern. Another Destin restaurant recommendation- Graffiti- it's italian food with great live music and lots of nice local art on the walls.

Not sure if you are into antiquing, but on Hwy 98, there is a big warehouse type antique store called Bienvenue. I've found quite a few gems there.
Have a fabulous vacay whatever it is you decide to do!
I so desperately want to know where I can find Cole's glasses.
Enjoy yourselves!
Thanks for reminding us about the Walk to 40 Weeks. Now that I'm pregnant for the first time I feel like I want to watch that video of Trish and Peter and Leo every day. Trish inspires me.
I live in Fort Walton beach (right next to Destin)It'd be so awesome to run into you guys! Can't wait to see pictures :-)
Hope you guys have a blast!
Head South.
