Blame It On Sunshine & Ice Cream
So what's the big huge delay exactly with getting Cole's blog up and running? Why is it taking so damn long? Well... I have received enough sweet inquiries about it, that I thought I would take today to sort of explain. To be totally honest it is hard to stay on task with everything we have going into this (overly ambitious) new blog, because we have days like yesterday-- Somedays you just want to lay in heat of the sun in some nice fluffy green grass, and then spend the afternoon teaching the kids how to turn a bowl of peaches into a bowl of sweet peach ice cream. The Littlest Buddy loved making this for everyone, and he did indeed do the bulk of the work. We lose our days to things like this ALL the time. Cole's father has had an ice cream machine collecting dust in his garage for the last 11 years, "The Il Gelataio (The Ice Cream Man)" and he just brought it over hoping someone would finally use it, so we have been sure to use it regularly. So with all that said, I wanted people to know that we are most definitely excited about making something cool to share online that focuses solely on Cole's passions, but it is going to take some time. Right now our big focus is on getting LB transitioned to summer and his new schedule, and making sure Tessa is safe in the water since so much of our FL summer is spent at pools, and lakes, and beachside. I am tackling swim lessons this year, and so far so good. She is kicking like mad, and blowing bubbles like a champ. So thank you for the enthusiasm about the new blog, and more importantly thanks for the patience. Enjoy your summer. They go quick.

I say take your time you two! Kids are only young once and summers go by quickly - like you said. Enjoy your family. We'll be here waiting whenever you have time. :)
Amazing photos, and Cole looks very pretty!
Peach ice > anything online
you are truly talented - here it is 1030 in the am and after reading your post I am jonesing for peach ice cream - and I am lactose intolerant......
as for Cole's blog, y'all take your time and do what you need to do - no doubt it will be worth the wait =)
Peach is probably the best homemade ice cream flavor.
OH YUM! Peach ice cream is my favorite.
Take your time. Enjoy your summer! And please share how you made the peach ice cream. My in-laws brought over our ice cream maker we had stored at their place from our wedding (tiny appt. and not enough room for many fun kitchen things. But it's summer, we must have the ice cream machine!) They also brought over a big bag of peaches from their tree. I think they said 100! I definitely don't want those sweet, delicious little guys to go to waste.
it's most likely those moments that you describe that will be remembered with joy later in life.
i love the picture of cole against the grass - a beautiful contrast
great photos, I have ice cream machine too and it's the best thing ever at summer :) And Cole looks beautiful, as always.
Take your time with the other blog, it's more important to live and spend time with the loved ones :)
@-emily- that is just a simple mix of peaches, heavy cream, simple syrup, and some lemon juice. We added a tiny drip of vanilla extract to it as a treat. Not sure what kind of machine you have to give you the exact amounts.
how are you teaching tessa to blow bubbles? is she just repeating after you? my son is a couple months younger than tessa and he is a fish but he doesnt seem to understand that you cant breathe underwater.
@Jessica- It has just been an exercise of monkey see, monkey do. it took a good long while to get her really blowing good bubbles. We did work on it quite a bit in the tub every night all winter. So she was a pro by summer. Not sure if there is a trick to it or not. good luck
that last picture of the ice cream looks so yum! we got teased in chicago with a few days of 90 degree weather and popsicles for breakfast, but now it's been rainy and not very nice :( so i will live vicariously through your perpetually summery posts.
That ice cream looks amazing. And so does Cole.
Had to make the same excuse today.. I think it's been raining for months here, and finally, a little bit of sun. Everyone is just standing in the streets. *laugh*
Sounds idyllic, swimming and ice cream! You're right of course that the most important stuff is spending time with the kids, enjoying the summer - the new blog will happen when it happens and I'm insanely jealous that you have sun, we just seem to have rain :(
can i see pictures of your garden this year?
Summer is really fun! its the season to spend more time with the kids doing some outdoor activities and of course cooking delicious foods for them. Great photos!
i have been catching up on your blog after my (baby induced) blog-reading-break.
your posts of pools and beaches and lakes are *breaking* my heart. i love swimming, and want our son's summers to be filled with it....
we live in san diego, and the water here is only warm enough for ocean swimming a couple of times a year. there are no (decent) lakes or rivers. and pools are not abundant.
for being such a "paradise" san diego is lacking. and, it breaks my heart.
